CADDY ADVICE |
|
Standing on the tee of a relatively long par three, a
confident golfer said to his caddy, "Looks like a
four-wood and a putt to me."
The caddy argued with him a bit and suggested that he
instead play it safe and hit a four-iron then a wedge.
The golfer was insulted and proceeded to scream and yell
at the caddy on the tee telling him that he was a better
golfer than that and how dare the caddy under estimate
his game.
So, giving in, the caddy handed the gentleman the
four-wood he had asked for. He proceeded to top the ball
and watched as it rolled about fifteen yards off the
front of the tee.
Immediately the caddy handed him his putter and said,
"And now for one long putt..."

Message from
the Manager
The 2008 golf
season is now in full swing and, despite the unseasonably cooler
temperatures, we are seasonably busy! Be sure to visit our web site for a
complete list of upcoming events, those that are
golf-related
and those that are
beyond
golf.
Our new website
was launched just last week and so far, we have been receiving excellent
feedback. If you have not yet taken a few moments to check out our new
design, please do so soon. If you have comments or suggestions about the
site, please
contact us.
Those of you
who have been out on the course will have noticed that pond construction on
the first hole is now complete. We appreciate your patience and are quite
pleased with the initial results, both aesthetically and functionally
speaking.
I hope you are
all enjoying the golf season, thus far. I have put in an order with Mother
Nature for some warmer temps, beginning this week. She hasn't gotten back to
me yet, so keep your fingers crossed. See you soon.

Now that we are fully into another
golf season for the year, lets hope for some nice weather with the odd rain
shower - but only at night of course.
The pond construction is now
complete. It looks great and really adds to our golf course. Again please keep
off all newly sodded and seeded areas as much as possible as this will allow for
faster grow-in. Aeration of the greens is also complete and the greens should be
completely healed in one to two weeks. Again thank you for your patience.
As you may have noticed, we have
implemented the three flag system. Just a reminder that front pin placement will
be indicated with a red flag, middle placement with a white flag, and back
placement with a blue flag. We have also measured the sprinklers on the front
nine and we will have the yardage markers on them later this summer.
Thanks,
Fred Schmoelzl, Golf Course
Superintendent

It has been wonderful to see an increase in attendance,
despite the cooler than seasonal weather that we have experienced so far.
We have implemented a tournament binder which will be kept on
the coffee table near the ladies locker room. In it you will find flyers for
the ladies only, the mixed and the league invitations from other clubs, each in
their own section.
The Captain’s Cup pairings are posted with the rules in the
ladies locker room. Have fun and good luck to all participants.
Dues for the closing are to be paid by June 17th, if you are
planning to attend please pay Heather Purdy, our treasurer. Cost is $40.00
including meal and prize or $25.00 for meal only.
If you have any questions feel free to
call one
of us and we will be happy to answer them.
Your Ladies' Executive
Theresa Corman – Golf Captain 519-348-4381
Heather Purdy – Treasurer 519-393-5807
