Thirteen of our
members attended a fun night scramble at
Ironwood on the 27th. Their course was
in great shape and they provided members
from a number of clubs with a wonderful
event. After they came to our course and
cleaned up in the prize department, we
were able to share the joy of winning.
Our members were on the winning team
scored the longest drive and two closest
to the pin prizes!
We are gearing up for
the last game night before the closing
event. This is scheduled for September
8th and it will be a two person team
format called "the long and the short of
it". One player will play all the shots
from tee box to 100 yard and the playing
partner will play all shots from 100
yards out to the final putt. On the next
hole, the players will reverse the play.
There will be prizes for the 9-hole play
so please remember to turn in your score
card.
The annual fish fry
dinner is scheduled for Tuesday
September 15th and will cost $10.00.
This is always a much anticipated meal!
The final touches are
being made for the ladies closing event
on September 27th. It will be a scramble
event and the ladies will sign their
teams up on the night of September 8th.
To make the selection of tee times fair,
the executive will determine by draw.
Watch for the times to be posted
sometime in the next two weeks.
The Ladies Golf
treasurer and secretary are finishing
their two year terms so we are seeking
replacements. Please see any one of the
executive if you want to consider
volunteering. It really is a lot more
fun than it looks!
The kitchen staff has
been most accommodating with our special
requests for table arrangements and
dinner selections. We really appreciate
their attention to details!
We bid farewell to
Jacquie Heckman and Stephen Feeney who
returned to university at the end of
August. We wish them all the best and
thank them for their great service in
the kitchen and pro shop.
There are only three
more ladies nights before the close but
the weather forecast looks great beyond
that. Do get out and enjoy the course as
it is in terrific shape!
Cheers!
Mary Louise
